Spain: Raimundo Bossa (Nylon String)
Just by chance if you’re unfamiliar with the brand, Raimundo guitars are beautifully handmade guitars from Spain and they are internationally recognized as guitars that offer exceptional sound quality.
For all of my soloist & fingerstyle gigs as well as any recordings where I utilize the sound of a nylon string guitar – I use this amazing 1997 Manuel Raimundo nylon string w/cutaway.
I purchased this guitar through the Raimundo sales-rep sight unseen! The decision to do so was based on the information that I read about Raimundo guitars through many reviews. The praise I was reading about this guitar had completely pre-sold me when I was in the market for a new nylon string.
Since purchase, I’ve installed two Fishman pickups in this guitar, (an SBT-E Soundboard Transducer and an under-saddle AG-Series). They’re both wired together and meet at an XLR jack located at the base of the body.
For live amplification, I run an XLR cable from the guitar over to a Mackie 402VLZ4 4-Channel Compact Mixer. From there the sound goes out to my acoustic guitar rig.
